Colorado's Water Plan
<empty> <empty>
Background
The Water Quality Control Division (Division) is working with the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) as it drafts the Colorado Water Plan in response to the Governor's Executive Order D 2013-005, http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/GovHickenlooper/
CBON/1251616203275
. The Executive Order discusses the need for the plan to address Colorado's water quantity and quality questions together and identifies the importance of aligning and streamlining the state's role in the approval and regulatory processes tied to water projects.
The Division is developing water quality information, including a Section 401 water quality certification discussion, in support of CWCB's plan development. The water quality input for the plan needs to be drafted and shared with CWCB by May 2014. The Division requests input from the Water Quality Forum as we develop water quality aspects of the plan, and this Colorado Water Plan work space will be used to share draft outlines and draft language and highlight opportunities for comment.
How to Get Involved
The Water Quality Forum will be the primary way to provide feedback on the Division's efforts related to the water quality portion of Colorado's Water Plan. There will be time set aside at the January, March, and May 2014 Water Quality Forum meetings to discuss the water plan and receive feedback. In addition, the CWCB will be announcing various ways to provide feedback on the water plan through the water plan website: http://www.coloradowaterplan.com.
