Arsenic Standards Work Group

This work group was formed to discuss alternative solutions to the problem of compliance with water quality-based effluent limits that are below the technologically-feasible treatment levels. The outcome of discussions was to ask the Water Quality Control Commission to consider Temporary Modifications of the arsenic standard in stream segments that have both water + fish standards and a permitted discharger with a water quality–based effluent limit compliance problem. That rulemaking hearing is set for April 8, 2013. Documents are posted on the Commission's website.

In order to get a better handle on placement of documents and improve searchability, membership is requested to use the document naming convention explained in the document naming conventions guideline. If the submission does not follow the convention, the work group coordator will be responsible for renaming the document before sending the file(s) to be posted.
